The GBR Lifesaving Steering Group is pleased to announce the appointment of two new International Team Managers for 2015/16. Taking up the Managerial position for the seniors is Sara Garner with Aled Bowen looking after the Junior Team.
Sara and Aled will be working closely with Team Coaches; Scott Wood and Amy Wilkinson to make sure the GBR Lifesaving Teams are organised, ready and prepared to compete at the 2015 European Lifesaving Championships.
Athletes aiming to represent GBR Lifesaving at the European Championships are reminded to declare their availability for selection at the earliest opportunity. Declaration forms can be downloaded from this web-site, or sent by request to ellenmoore@rlss.org.uk

We have decided to do something different to start the summer season and bring the winter season to an end.
7.00pm Bowling competitions
7.30pm Presentation of Cornish & National Medals
8.00pm Pre-booked meals served
If you would like to stay for food after the presentation, this needs to be pre-ordered to be ready to serve at 8pm. We will have menus and will be taking orders at youth training for the next 2 sessions.

The first event in the Region Surf Series is at Portreath SLSC on Friday 8th May at 7pm. 4 teams selected from the Cornish Clubs will compete in the sea and on the beach in the fast moving event, further events are to be held at Polzeath SLSC and Gyllyngvase SLSC leading on to the Cornish Ranking event followed by the SLSGB Ranking event and the the competition between England and Wales.
This is all part of the SLSGB High Performance Development Programme to inspire our up and coming competitors to race alongside the older more experienced athletes. There will be separate races for the 14yr olds who have just moved out of the Nipper/Juniors, they will be eligible for the team event next year depending on this years results.
Any Club member able to help on the beach or in the Club house, please come along. There will be hot food and drinks supplied.

Portreath SLSC Youth Team retained their title as Stillwater Champions at Millfield on Sunday.
The Portreath Nippers did really well at Millfield on Saturday, 600 competitors entered and Portreath came 4th.

MASTERS And ADULT BEACH TRAINING MONDAY 6.15pm
It is that time of year again to get back onto the beach and begin training for the summer. We would like to see as many masters as possible, old and new. So if you’re a parent and want to give it a go but were too afraid to try then why not come along, you never know you might enjoy it and get fit at the same time. Training from 6.15pm for all needs and abilities. You can take part in 3 taster sessions before deciding to become a member.
