Club Kit and Gear Room Storage

On Sunday 15th November 2015 we need volunteers to help tidy up the gear rooms and stow away  the kit which is blocking the gangways and making access very difficult.

There is personal kit in the club which is not allocated to a rack, there are surf boards , nipper boards etc. this needs to be removed before the 15th or it will be put outside at the back of the club.

We will be doing an audit of all the kit in the club to see what space is available for private kit, the club equipment must take priority. There may not be as many racks available for members use next year so if your kit is not used on a regular basis or you are removing it before the new year starts can you please let Diane, the membership Secretary know.

At the moment there is some club kit missing which needs to be returned. Before any club kit is taken out of the club for training elsewhere you must inform Gary Prisk – the Gear Steward. 2 ski trailers ready for Holywell Bay 2014

Use of club equipment outside of a scheduled club training session

A participant may use club equipment outside of a scheduled club training session dependent on the age and the qualifications they hold.

Our insurance will only cover the use of club craft in the following scenarios:

Club Session: risk assessed by club surf lifeguard and safety cover ratios in place. Buoyancy aids must be used if club equipment leaves the bay i.e. out of site of the club house.

Over 16’s with full surf lifeguard qualification and relevant competency can take out club equipment for their own use.

Under 16’s out of designated session times can only use club equipment if supervised by an over 18 with a surf lifeguard qualification and relevant competency. A risk assessment must be completed beforehand and buoyancy aids must be used if club equipment leaves the bay i.e. out of site of club house. This applies to under 18’s without surf lifeguard or competency awards (additionally child protection procedures state that an adult (over 18) should not be on their own with children (under 18).

No club equipment is to be taken out of the club at any other time!!!

If you have permission to use club equipment outside of club training sessions the gear register must be signed and the gear steward informed.

Any damage to equipment needs to be recorded and the Gear Steward notified.

If you are taking kit off the beach to another training session or competition,  please remember that you or your parent are responsible for the kit, care needs to be taken when loading on your vehicle.
