All members are encouraged to build their skills and techniques in surf lifesaving. In order to accomplish good rescues, club members need to learn the essential skills necessary to save lives. Competitions also enable club members to improve learned skills in a high pressure situation. The Club has many County and National titles in competition arenas since its beginning in 1958, and whilst the club has boasted some high profile athletes in its time, it is known best for its team achievements

The surf club has a solid background of training and coaching at all levels in all arenas, from beach, boat, swim, board, ski and IRB to First Aid and Patrol.

Surf Life Saving is about having fun, being physically fit, realising the importance of teamwork, refining sea safety skills, enjoying competitions, and providing a vital community service to help keep our beach a safe place for everyone. Surf Life Saving offers a range of awards to its members and the community, which enable anyone to learn essential life saving skills.

Members enjoy healthy lifestyle, develop a sense of pride, responsibility and purpose and form lasting friendships in a positive and healthy environment.

There is certainly a place for everyone in surf lifesaving. If you are unable to perform the duties of an active surf lifesaver, then perhaps your assistance in the administration, communications or fundraising areas are for you.
